On Friday night, the EMBA Alumni Club hosted the latest Alumni Event of the Executive MBA in Innovation & Business Creation – this time in UnternehmerTUM’s downtown offices in the IBM Watson Highlight Towers.

Alumni Event

Enjoying a fantastic view from the premises on the 25th floor, about 50 alumni from nine previous program intakes as well as students of the current EMBA IBC class got together to bring the work week to a relaxed end and to discuss all the exciting things that had happened since their last encounter.

The evening’s agenda was all about stories evolving from the group. One team of the current cohort presented the status of their startup after having completed the first half of the incubation program XPRENEURS.

Having started with a broad idea in April this year, the team continued to iterate their case during the team project phase of the EMBA program and throughout the international study trip to Berkeley, San Francisco and the Bay Area. And success proves their persistence right:

The team got selected to be one of 18 teams from around the globe to participate in the 3-months incubation program, which supports young startups to turn technology driven business ideas into scalable companies. An inspiring moment for all attendees of the evening who were eager to hear first-hand success stories from an early stage of the entrepreneurial journey.

EMBA Day

In contrast to recalling collective memories from the past and sharing recent project developments of the present, another event took place, that was designated to the future:

EMBA Day

At the EMBA Day, the official info event on the Executive MBA in Innovation & Business Creation, UnternehmerTUM opened its doors for potential future students of the program (next start: April 2018). At the event, visitors had the opportunity to literally get a 360 degree view of the EMBA –  through a visit of the Entrepreneurship Center in which most of the EMBA class sessions take place, a taster lecture by Prof. Jerry Engel from the UC Berkeley, a program overview by the EMBA management team, as well as personal insights from the EMBA Alumnus Sven Rens (Class of 2015 and Co-Founder of Mr Beam Lasers) and students of the current class.

Networking at EMBA Day

Thereby, the event turned out to be a pleasurable yet meaningful way of spending a Saturday afternoon and a good opportunity to give prospective students the time and space to make up their mind throughout the end of the year.
